The conversations we are having with Josh continue to get better and better.  This kid can talk!  He is very curious about everything and is most definitely in the “why” stage.  Why did that person do that?  Why does this work?  Why do we live in our house? etc…  On the way home from the dump yesterday, he asked me where do birds go to the bathroom.  My reply was anywhere they want.  He laughed a little and said do they go to the bathroom on your truck.  I unfortunately had to say yes they do.  I then told him that a bird had gone to the bathroom on me before.  He didn’t believe me at first, but he finally did.  Of course, asking how, when, where and why.  So, I told him the most recent story (yes, it has happened more than once) about how Grandma, Grandpa and I were walking out of a casino and a bird pooped on my knee.  He thought it was totally gross and I think the two of us laughed about it all the way home.  It is just so much fun watching him have conversations with everyone.  The boy can talk and he asks lots of questions.  Who does that sound like?

Josh is continuing to work on learning how to swim.  We still have the floaties on for now, but are trying to find some swimming lessons that we can get him into.  He is to the point where he will swim with his face in the water for about five seconds.  He is trying very hard to learn how to swim.  Now, if we can just get him to do so without the floaties.

He is also getting very good at the games in the game room.  For example, he can beat his dad at many of the games on the arcade and he also was able to keep up with him in darts!  (Joe isn’t nearly as good as he use to be.)

We took Josh to go see Shrek 3 today.  We have seen the first two probably two thousand times so we (Tara and I) were really looking forward to seeing a different Shrek.  Josh was very excited too, but I think that was just to go to a movie in a movie theatre.  We don’t do this often.  It was a good movie and Josh laughed quite a bit.  He also almost fell asleep a couple times.  In talking with Tara afterwards, we both found several times where the adults were laughing and the kids were asking why were we laughing.  Josh asked me a couple times.  I didn’t want to go into the conversation about why the woment were burning their bras.  

We have been working a lot with Josh on swimming and riding his bike.  He is now riding his bike without training wheels.  He isn’t very good yet, but he is getting there.  We are also trying to teach him how to swim.  He knows the mechanics but he just doesn’t have the confidence.  With Tara being done teaching for the summer after this week, we hope that we can get him swimming like a pro in no time.
